Things overheard in our home...

Jen: What are doing? (This, in response to a commercial that was playing on my computer)

Swanny: Suffering through this commercial while waiting for this video to load. What are you doing? (This, in response to a pained expression on my lovely wife's face. Also, I was hoping it wasn't something I'd done.)

Jen: Having a contraction.

Swanny: (I got nothin'. What can you say to that? Thankfully the video we were waiting for came up.)

Oh yeah. Nothing like a little dose of stark reality to liven up your life. I'm certain this is a phrase that will be uttered many more times over that next four months.

WHAT!?!?! This information was not shared in our Tuesday Talks, Jen. Now everytime I USED to think you were touching your stomach due to a kick or bump, I'm going to quietly panic that you're actually have a contraction.

Do I need to start stocking the room with clean towels and newspapers? I better also make sure I keep at least a quarter tank of gas in the car at all times. I will be prepared.

Really, Mrs, I didn't want to throw you into a panic (as evidenced above) :) I have a contraction every now and then, usually at night. Despite that they're doing nothing yet, you know it helps to be prepared (especially since I can't remember where I put anything anymore) so go ahead and stock up our room. You never know....you may end up having to deliver him! That won't make things too weird in our friendship, will it?! :)

I'll have to check, but I'm pretty sure there's nothing about delivering a child in my contract.

Oh, wait. I don't currently have a contract. Labor away, then! =)
