Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the dad's I know. I spent my day eating a great breakfast with Jen and Peanut, going to church, then relaxing for the rest of the day.

I got caught up on a little reading while Jen did some gardening. Spoke to my father, Swanny Sr. It's always good to check in with him. We've shared a sometimes turbulant relationship, but we're both better and stronger (hopefully) for it. We talk every few weeks, and things are usually good. I'm sure this may have been a tough Father's Day for him, as he recently lost his oldest son, Chris (my half-brother). While I haven't spoken to the other Swanny boys in about 20 years or so, it still came as a shock, and I can't imagine how my Dad must feel. No parent should have to endure that. Stay strong pops.

After Dad, I spoke to my grandfather. As always, he's cooking up a storm and enoying sharing the end results with his friends.

This evening, we went swimming and had dinner at Bubba, Baby Bubba, and Mrs. F's house. Peanut had a great time splashing around in their big pool.

After swimming with mom, dad, Mrs. F, Bubba, and Baby Bubba (seen here),

it was time for dinner, and everyone's favorite, dessert.

After a personally fulfilling day, Peanut has gone to bed. Jen is sleeping on the couch, and I'm ready to finish my book and call it a day.

Re: my cooking. I cannot keep up with the demand. These mostly old folks relly enjoy my cooking. And the black folks drive me crazy with their requests for ribs, and now for the beef brisket.

Maybe they wiil rent me an apartment, and I could have a restaurant there. lol!
