Watch your fingers...

I promised this a couple of days ago, so here's our fireworks update from the evening of the 4th. After dinner, and much horseplay amoung the cousins, we moved out to Auntie's driveway for a fireworks display. Since fireworks are legal here in Idaho, we had much more to play with than just sparklers and noise makers.

Peanut, Missy, and J-bug amused themselves with a few boxes of snaps. While Missy and J-bug had no problem delivering the swift downward stroke required to get a good bang from the snaps, Peanut had less luck with her sidearm throws. Maybe she has a future in softball or baseball, but her throwing style's not condusive to fireworks. Eventually, she got it and the kids littered the driveway with exploded snaps.

When the snaps were gone, it was time to move on to the fun stuff.

I think the kids were a little concerned.

They didn't need to worry. All the fireworks went off as planned. All of my fingers are still firmly attached, and the fire department didn't need to be called.

When fireworks were done, it was time for some freeze pops, and then bed. It'd been a long day for the Swanny family, and if we were going to be awake the next day, it was time to hit the hay.

Coming up, fun at the water park.

Safe to say that you had as much fun as the three kiddos did!

Looks like fun! Missy really is a peanut, isn't she? Hope you're having a wonderful time, and I can't wait to read about the water park!
